Nissan X-Trail Goes Green
Auto concern Nissan has started test tests of crossover X-Trail FCV familiar to the worlds car lovers which, unlike the “standard” colleagues known for “gluttony” and the negligent relation to environment, will be the ardent fighter for ecology.
So-called fuel cells of following generation (New-generation FC Stack) became an energy source for the Japanese off-road car. The new power-plant on 25 % is less, than previous, also provides in 1,4 times of more power - 130 kw (174 h.p.) instead of former 90 kw.
Company Nissan has begun laboratory researches of a novelty in the end of 2008, and in February 2009 has started all-weather tests of the car equipped New-generation FC Stack.
At the cars working on fuel cells, sensitivity to low temperatures is very high. New materials electric membranes have allowed to expand considerably a temperature range of use of the car with such energy source.
Let’s remind, the essence of work of fuel cells consists that hydrogen, passing through them, turns to a pure distilled water, developing in passing the current flow necessary for the electric motor, rotating wheels. FC Stack new generation is a part “Green Program” (Nissan Green Program 2010) in which frameworks the new technologies are created, allowing to lower harmful influence of cars on environment.
